You will be the FPGA Design Engineer for Advanced Programs, supporting the development of system architectures, requirements, and trade studies. Our team is responsible for delivering a high-performance system, and you will play a key role in ensuring that system requirements are met and that the system is properly integrated and tested.

  • Supporting the development of system architectures, including block diagrams, interface control documents, and other architectural artifacts
  • Developing and refining system requirements, including performance, interface, and environmental requirements
  • Performing trade studies to optimize system performance, including evaluating different design options and developing recommendations for system implementation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, software engineering, and test engineering, to ensure that system requirements are met and that the system is properly integrated and tested
  • Supporting the development of system models and simulations, including creating digital twins and other modeling artifacts
  • Participating in design reviews and other technical meetings to ensure that system requirements are met and that the system is properly designed and implemented
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system architectures, requirements documents, and trade study reports
  • Bachelor of Science or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience
  • HDL programming experience with VHDL, Verilog, and/or System Verilog
  • Experience in Hardware-Software Integration and Validation
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolsets
  • Experience with trade study development and execution, including the use of tools such as Excel and MATLAB
  • Familiarity with military standards and specifications, including MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-704
  • Experience with CAMEO requirements management tools
  • Experience with MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture) and WOSA (Weapon Open Systems Architecture)
  • Experience with management of Configuration Control (GitLab preferred)
  • Team and Design lead experience
  • Experience with Microchip (MicroSemi) and Libero SoC Design toolsets
  • Familiarity with FPGA Vivado/Vitis toolsets
  • Experience with UVM
  • Experience working with Polarfire devices
  • Experience with C/C++ programming
  • Experience with troubleshooting and debugging with board-level testing and FPGA validation
  • Experience in ASIC / FPGA life cycle (architecture, design, simulation, verification, validation, integration & test), particularly at MFC
  • Expert programming Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) or Complex Programmable Logic Devices (CPLD)
  • Comfortable using digital oscilloscopes, power meters, and other test equipment
  • Experience with standard complex subsystem interfaces using PCIe, Ethernet, etc.
  • Experience with electronics design and troubleshooting activities
