About The Position

The FP&A Specialist plays a critical role in financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis for a large, complex construction organization. This role partners closely with all departments across the Company to deliver accurate financial insights, support strategic decision-making, and drive improved profitability and cash flow across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings strong financial modeling skills, a deep understanding of construction financials, and the ability to translate operational performance into clear financial narratives.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 1-3 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or operational finance experience
  • Experience in construction, engineering, infrastructure, or project-based industries
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and financial reporting systems

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting large, multi-project or multi-business unit organizations
  • Understanding of construction accounting, percentage-of-completion, and backlog forecasting
  • Experience in CMiC (ERP)
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools

Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Forecasting Assist the SVP of Finance and Department Leaders in the development and maintenance of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-range financial plans
  • Consolidate revenue, margin, overhead, and cash flow forecasts at the enterprise level
  • Support scenario modeling related to backlog, project timing, and margin
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for all Company stakeholders, including variance analysis vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods
  • Analyze revenue, gross margin, overhead expense, and EBITDA performance
  • Identify key drivers impacting profitability, liquidity, and working capital
  • Partner with operations, project controls, and estimating teams to understand project performance and forecast changes
  • Analyze project-level trends including cost-to-complete, margin erosion, change orders, and risk provisions
  • Provide financial insights to support strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and capital investment decisions
  • Assist leadership with ad hoc analysis, board materials, and parent company reporting as needed
  • Improve financial transparency and accountability across operational teams
  • Enhance FP&A models, reporting tools, and dashboards to improve accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
  • Support ERP, project accounting, and BI tool integration and optimization
  • Drive standardization of forecasting and reporting processes across regions or divisions
