About The Position

Tempo builds the infrastructure layer for how modern enterprises plan and execute work. Their newest platform, Loop, is an Adaptive Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) system designed to help organizations continuously orchestrate strategy, capacity, and delivery, especially as AI reshapes work. Loop provides leadership with a unified platform for setting direction, planning, and monitoring portfolio activities, offering insights and recommendations. The role addresses the visibility problem in enterprise financial planning, where budget approvals, reforecast cycles, and actuals tracking are often disconnected from strategic decisions. Loop aims to bridge the gap between finance systems and portfolio planning. The company is seeking a creative systems thinker with deep understanding of enterprise finance, who may have experience implementing financial planning systems, modeling budgets for large programs, or guiding finance and FP&A teams through tooling transformations. The ideal candidate understands the intricacies of rolling forecasts, CFO requests in QBRs, and why budget approval workflows often resort to spreadsheets.

Requirements

  • Deep domain knowledge in enterprise finance
  • 4–8 years in enterprise finance, FP&A, ERP implementation, or financial systems consulting
  • Understanding of what a rolling forecast really takes and what the CFO asks for in the QBR
  • Hands-on experience with how organizations actually budget large programs, including the tradeoffs between cost centers, headcount planning, and CapEx vs. OpEx treatment
  • Familiarity with enterprise finance or planning systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Anaplan, or similar) and understanding where they fall short
  • Curiosity about AI, including using AI in work and thinking seriously about what it means for enterprise planning, financial forecasts and budgets
  • Complexity tolerance: ability to sift through complexity and produce clear, structured output for executive audiences
  • Clear communication: ability to write a crisp one-pager that earns alignment without calling a meeting
  • Collaborative by default: sharing plans and pivots early

Responsibilities

  • Drive strategy for this domain while working closely with Product Managers across Loop whose work intersects with yours.
  • Work directly with engineering and design from problem definition through shipped feature with minimal handoff and maximum ownership.
  • Define how Loop helps organizations set investment thresholds, allocate budget across initiatives, track actuals against plan, and make real-time tradeoff decisions all within their strategic planning context.
  • Product strategy and roadmap for Loop’s finance and budgeting capabilities
  • Discovery with CFOs, FP&A leaders, and finance business partners, understanding how budget authority flows through a modern enterprise
  • How Loop connects portfolio investment decisions to financial plans: scenario modeling, threshold governance, and continuous forecasting
  • Close partnership with Tempo’s integrations team on connecting Loop to ERP and financial systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, and others)
