About The Position

We're seeking a FP&A Intern who will support the Financial Planning & Analysis team in delivering insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.  This internship provides hands-on experience in corporate finance, exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful financial initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In addition to supporting core FP&A processes, the intern will complete a structured capstone project designed to drive meaningful business impact. This project will focus on leveraging data models to build dynamic Power BI dashboards that enhance visibility, uncover insights, and support strategic decision making. This is an-onsite position 3 days a week based in Glen Allen, VA.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, with completion of upper level finance coursework; rising junior or senior preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with financial statements and basic accounting concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Interest in corporate finance, FP&A, or strategic finance
  • Microsoft Excel: Advanced Excel skills required, including modeling, pivot tables, and complex formulas

Nice To Haves

  • Business Intelligence (BI) (a plus): Strong working knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the FP&A Manager with monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis and development of management dashboards to support business insights.
  • Budgeting and forecasting processes through data collection, model updates, and scenario analysis.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers and translate them into financial insights.
  • Preparing presentations and material for leadership reviews, including executive-level summaries.
  • Maintaining and enhancing Excel-based financial models, tools, and reporting templates.
  • Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and special projects aligned to business priorities.
