Overview (Scope of Role) The FP&A Analyst, Corporate Segment is responsible for Corporate Unallocated reporting (corporate functional overhead costs) developing functional spending budgets, forecasts, analyzing, and tracking functional spending trends with functional leaders, identifying, and tracking corporate functional value capture initiatives, preparing expense exhibits and reporting packages, being a company expert on fixed costs developing / maintaining / improving processes for functional reporting, allocations, and earnings adjustments. Additionally, as needed, the Analyst provides finance support to all corporate level program project teams (such as acquisitions, divestitures, and other business transformation initiatives) developing and tracking PMO and project budgets and spend, and adhering to appropriate key control activities around project financial reporting, as well as assisting in the preparation and processing of discontinued operations financial statement adjustments (as applicable). This is a hybrid position in Wayne, PA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
  • 3-6+ years of experience in financial analysis and/or cost accounting
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize issues and proactively address them

Nice To Haves

  • Chemical industry experience is a plus
  • SAP and Power BI expertise preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monthly/Quarterly Company and segment performance, financial reporting, forecast analysis and communication - 35%
  • Provide monthly reporting packages to corporate functional owners and lead functional fixed costs spending review with FP&A manager and functional leaders.
  • Prepare functional forecast and synthesize functional forecast into Corporate Unallocated forecast.
  • Review and update corporate functional recharge allocations (as needed) and review and perform analysis over cost allocations.
  • Budgeting/Planning - 30%
  • In coordination with Corporate and Business FP&A leaders, manage the annual global cost center budgeting process, including timeline development and communication and cost center baseline development (including a consolidated workforce planner) and employee fringe and attrition estimate by location, materiality, data downloads and uploads, iterations, updating and maintenance of allocation tables, and functional cost center hierarchies
  • Assist in the corporate functional fixed cost budgeting process by function with functional owners, including establishing and tacking the timeline, target setting, alignment sessions, spending reviews, value capture (synergies) and business excellence targets incorporating and identifying strategic initiatives
  • Special Project Finance Support - 5%
  • Coordinate with PMO and workstream leaders in development of special project cost and capital budgets, and assist in tracking project spend to targets, revising projections and communicating deviations to PMO leaders, preparing expense exhibits and reporting packages.
  • Further, maintain key control activities on accuracy and timeliness of expense reporting including project spend authorization and classification for earnings adjustments, identifying and remediating irregularities with functional workstream leaders escalating to PMO when necessary
  • Functional Excellence - 10%
  • Evaluate performance of functions relative to value capture (synergy) and business excellence (inflation offset) targets, benchmarking performance, identify significant challenges/variances/optimizations and develop tactical plans to ensure financial and operational objectives are met, tracking, and reporting on functional initiatives on a quarterly basis
  • Month End Closing Activities 20%
  • Analyze month end results compared to prior periods and expectations, identifying and remediating anomalies working cross functionally with Controllers, performing key control activities, assisting with audit request, ensuring the Corporate Unallocated segment is free from material misstatement
