About The Position

We have an exciting opportunity for early career talent to join the inaugural class of the Fox Ad Sales Training Local Media Program (FAST LOCAL). FAST LOCAL is a twelve (12) month sales rotational development program (1-year contract with the option of a 1-year extension) designed to develop the next generation of local media sales professionals. FAST LOCAL is an immersive and hands-on program where you will rotate through core ad sales disciplines, learn to prospect and consult with local business with coaching from senior leaders, and grow into a consultative seller who understands both linear broadcast and streaming/digital products. Successful participants are strongly considered for full-time placement in a local market upon program completion. FAST LOCAL is more than a training program — it’s a launchpad. We are looking for curious, coachable, and ambitious candidates who are ready to contribute, learn, and develop sales skills from day one. Location & Program Duration: This is a paid full-time role based in our NYC office and all participants will report into the office four days (Monday-Thursday) a week. Friday will be a remote working day. All accepted participants who do not reside in the tri-state area will receive one-time relocation assistance. The program is structured as a 12-month contract with the option to extend for an additional 12-months. Internal FOX Employees: Current FOX employees with an interest in sales are encouraged to apply. Please note that acceptance into the FOX FAST LOCAL program requires transitioning out of your current role to participate in the 12-month rotational program. While the program is designed to support career growth and prepare participants for future opportunities within FOX, placement in a full-time role after the program concludes is not guaranteed and participants who are not offered a full-time position will not return to their previous role.

Requirements

  • Early career (0-2 years of experience) professional with a passion and interest to work in media sales
  • Strong drive, passion, and eagerness to prospect and win new business
  • Strong written and verbal communication; professional acumen when interfacing with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and timelines
  • Analytical skills and comfort using data to inform decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the willingness to learn
  • Flexibility to work on-site in your assigned market during the first 12 months of the program. Candidates who receive a full-time offer upon the completion of the 12 months may need to relocate to another city within the FOX market.
  • Ambitious and tenacious people will have the greatest success in this role

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous internship/experience in the advertising, media, entertainment, or sales
  • Experience with Excel/Google Sheets, PowerPoint, and data tools
  • Familiarity with WideOrbit, Salesforce, or other sales/traffic systems
  • Understanding of digital and social analytics, OTT/CTV advertising, and generative AI tools
  • Interest in local news, local sports and helping small and medium businesses grow

Responsibilities

  • Learn & Execute New Business Development: Train to learn business development— prospect, qualify, and support the close of new local and regional business under the mentorship of experienced sellers
  • Develop Consultative Sales Skills: Build multi-platform proposals (linear + streaming + digital) and support strategic client pitches that solve advertiser business goals
  • Support Sales Operations: Work with traffic, operations and sales systems (WideOrbit, Salesforce, proposal tools) to assist with order entry, trafficking, scheduling and billing
  • Partner with Research & Analytics: Interpret Nielsen, Comscore and digital analytics to inform recommendations, optimize campaigns and quantify results
  • Collaborate with Creative & Marketing: Work with local marketing teams to develop integrated campaigns, sponsorships and promotions that drive advertiser impact
  • Learn to Sell Local Sports and Local Events: Gain exposure to local sports sales: NFL, College Football, MLB, the World Series, and the Men’s World cup
  • Communicate & Coordinate: Serve as an effective point of contact across Advertising Sales, Operations and clients; prepare reports, media schedules, and campaign recaps
  • Deliver Results: Meet deadlines, maintain high attention to detail, and help drive measurable outcomes for advertisers and the station
