Job SummaryThe Fourth Grade Teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School in University City, MO is responsible for delivering high‑quality, faith‑centered instruction that supports students’ academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development. This role implements curriculum aligned with diocesan and school standards while fostering a structured, engaging, and respectful classroom environment rooted in Catholic values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required).
  • Commitment to Catholic education and willingness to support the mission of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School.
  • Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑based instruction in core subject areas including Reading/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Religion.
  • Integrate Catholic teachings, traditions, and prayer into daily instruction and classroom routines.
  • Create and maintain a positive, organized, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student responsibility, collaboration, and growth.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning styles, abilities, and academic needs.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional decisions.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with parents/guardians regarding student progress and academic expectations.
  • Collaborate with faculty, support staff, and administration to support student success and school initiatives.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, liturgical celebrations, and school community events.
  • Adhere to all school policies, diocesan guidelines, and professional expectations.
