JOB SUMMARY The Foundry Technician is responsible for executing a range of tasks involved in the metal casting process, including core making, mold preparation, melting, pouring, shakeout, and surface finishing. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality castings through precision, safety, and collaboration in a manufacturing environment. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform daily operations in one or more of the following casting functions: Core making - form the internal surfaces of castings. Mold making - form the external surfaces of castings. Mold closing - assemble cores and molds into complete mold assemblies. Melting - prepare molten metal from scrap steel/raw materials, adjust chemistry and temperature. Pouring - transfer molten metal into mold cavities. Shakeout - remove core and mold sand from castings and reclaim sand. Casting cleaning - remove gates, risers, fins, and surface defects; abrasive blast surfaces; inspect and repair castings. Operate equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and loaders as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area. Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures. Perform other work-related tasks as assigned. FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (OPTIONAL) Support casting operations across various foundry departments. Assist with sand reclamation, pattern storage, and casting touch-ups as needed. Actively contribute to safe and efficient daily operations.
