Skyworks Technology & Manufacturing Group is looking for a Foundry Technology Engineer to support Si. technology development focusing on a broad range of foundry technologies (CMOS, SOI, BiCMOS, BCD) for our growing portfolio of wireless, IoT, Audio, Timing, Power products. Candidate is responsible for a range of activities geared toward new technology development, roadmap development, NTI execution. Associated tasks include participating in meetings with foundries, interfacing with design teams, product engineers, reliability and failure analysis etc. Note: Location can be either Irvine, California or Austin, Texas.

  • Collaborate with foundry partners to define, develop and enable foundry technologies that meet the performance requirements for various Skyworks products.
  • Collaborate with internal design, product, reliability, and program management teams to define new technology introduction (NTI) scope, including characterization & reliability coverage, corner validation and risk assessment plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to execute the NTI plan to meet the key milestones and to ensure the foundry process readiness for a successful production ramp.
  • Position requires a minimum MS and 8 years experience or Ph.D. and 5 years experience in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or equivalent disciplines.
  • Experience in semiconductor technology development, device design and process integration, preferably with tier-1 foundry partners.
  • Solid knowledge of BJT, MOSFET, BCD device physics, reliability, and process integration.
  • Good understanding of RF device characteristics, and impact on end-products (e.g. insertion loss, harmonics, noise figure, ruggedness).
  • Good understanding of device characteristics for precision analog & HVFET, and impact on end-product (e.g. mismatch, flicker noise, SOA, parasitic-BJT).
  • Strong problem-solving skills to tackle issues, uncover root cause and drive corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Capability to innovate and generate the creative solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrating the capability to lead multiple projects, and to contribute effectively as a strong team player.
  • Competency in managing and driving technical progress, meeting technology milestones through efficient and effective collaboration with both external foundry partner and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with external foundries.
  • Experience in Foundry NTI and NPI.
  • Good knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing process and production flow.
  • Basic knowledge in Foundry design kits (Spice model, LVS, DRC, PEX, etc), CAD tools (Cadence Virtuoso) and IC design flow.
