Job Description Summary The Foundry Operator is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in the aluminum casting process, including working with molds, molten aluminum, shake-out machines, and related equipment. This role requires close attention to safety, part specifications, and quality standards to ensure the consistent production of high-quality castings.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English to understand instructions and complete required documentation.
• 6–12 months of prior foundry experience preferred.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely carry molten aluminum in ladles (up to 75 lbs.) from furnaces to molds.
• Pour molten aluminum into molds, ensuring the sprue is kept filled at all times.
• Degas metal, skim ladles, and ensure aluminum is clean prior to pouring.
• Operate shake-out machines, cranes, and hoists to remove castings from molds.
• Use hand tools (wire brush, sledgehammer, etc.) to remove sand, risers, and gates from molds.
• Perform visual inspection of castings to ensure adherence to specifications and quality guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all prescribed safety rules and use required PPE at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
