About The Position

We are looking for a Founding Strategic Business Developer to play a key role at the intersection of product, client engagement and legal expertise. This role is perfect for a patent attorney with 3–5 years of practice who is eager to move into software, become highly operational and take ownership of client success and business development initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to shape how DeepIP engages with clients, drives adoption and delivers impact. You’ll be at the intersection of product, AI and IP, helping clients unlock the full value of our tools, solve workflow challenges and act as a strategic partner. As a founding member of the Success team, you’ll help define processes, set standards for client engagement and contribute to the overall growth and positioning of DeepIP in the legal tech market. This role blends client support, account management, legal expertise, and strategic input to transform the IP experience.

Requirements

  • Licensed patent attorney with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in patent drafting, prosecution, and broader legal practice.
  • Curious, ambitious, and operationally minded, with a strong interest in software and client success.
  • Experience or interest in customer-facing roles, account management, or post-sales support.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Passion for driving client impact and transforming traditional IP workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Drive onboarding and adoption of DeepIP’s AI-powered patent tools across drafting and prosecution workflows.
  • Solve client challenges, unblock issues, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Build trusted, lasting relationships with clients, acting as a strategic partner.
  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities to maximize client value.
  • Engage with lawyers at existing and prospective clients to understand workflows, objectives, and firm context.
  • Be the go-to expert on patent workflows and broader legal challenges (drafting, prosecution, due diligence, document analysis, corporate governance).
  • Coach clients and internal teams to apply DeepIP solutions effectively in their workflows.
  • Translate legal insight into actionable feedback for the product team.
  • Lead tailored product demos, showing how DeepIP addresses specific client needs.
  • Represent DeepIP in workshops, webinars, and industry events.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create content tailored to lawyers and IP professionals.
  • Position DeepIP as a credible, AI-driven partner that transforms patent and IP workflows.
  • Conduct research on customers, competitors, and market trends to inform strategy.
