Founding Engineer
About The Position
Our client is a fast-growing, venture-backed healthcare technology startup building the infrastructure to modernize how payments and contracts are managed across the healthcare ecosystem. Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a full-stack software engineer with a backend-leaning focus
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and React in production environments
- Experience working at an early-stage, venture-backed startup (pre-Series B preferred)
- Proven ability to build and ship 0→1 products or features in fast-paced environments
- Experience working with complex datasets and transforming them into usable insights
- Comfortable working across the stack, including infrastructure and system design
- High ownership mindset with the ability to operate independently and move quickly
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Nice To Haves
- Background in healthcare, fintech, or other highly regulated/data-heavy industries
- Experience with modern AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code)
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, cloud platforms, and data pipelines
- Exposure to LLMs or AI-driven product development
- Entrepreneurial or founding engineer experience
Responsibilities
- Build and ship production-grade features from day one across the full stack (frontend, backend, and infrastructure)
- Develop scalable systems using modern technologies including TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Design and implement data models and pipelines to process complex, unstructured healthcare datasets
- Translate raw data into actionable insights through analytics and intelligent workflows
- Collaborate on architecture decisions, code reviews, and technical strategy to ensure a high-quality codebase
- Work cross-functionally with product and customers to iterate quickly and deliver high-impact solutions
- Take full ownership of problems end-to-end, from ideation to deployment and iteration
- Contribute to building a strong engineering culture in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
