Founding Software Engineer (LATAM)
About The Position
Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed technology startup building critical data infrastructure that powers advanced AI and machine learning systems. This is an opportunity to join at the ground floor and have a direct impact on both product direction and technical foundations. As a Founding Software Engineer, you will play a key role in building and scaling the company’s core product and infrastructure from day one. You’ll work closely with the founders and early engineers, owning meaningful projects end-to-end.
Requirements
- 4–10 years of professional experience as a full-stack or frontend-leaning software engineer
- Strong experience building and scaling production web applications
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (especially React and Next.js) and Python
- Experience designing or working with data-intensive systems and workflows
- Comfortable operating in fast-moving startup environments with high ownership and ambiguity
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote, distributed team
Nice To Haves
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
- Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging tools (e.g., Kafka, Redis, Elasticsearch)
- Exposure to containerized or orchestrated environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Prior experience helping define systems or infrastructure at an early-stage company
- Interest in data infrastructure, developer tooling, or AI-adjacent products
Responsibilities
- Designing and building complex data-capture and workflow systems across web and desktop environments
- Developing frontend-heavy full-stack applications using modern JavaScript frameworks
- Architecting and optimizing high-throughput, production-grade data pipelines
- Collaborating with product and engineering leadership to define product strategy and ship quickly
- Establishing engineering best practices, tooling, and technical standards as the team scales
- Taking ownership of systems that directly impact customers and core business outcomes
