About The Position

Our client is building a next -generation platform that enables individuals to create and operate a personal AI agent—a true extension of their cognition, memory, and decision -making. This is not a simple automation layer or wrapper. The platform is designed to model context, intent, and long -term memory, allowing the agent to operate autonomously across everyday tools such as email, calendars, notes, and messaging, while communicating in the user ’s unique voice. The team is assembling a founding engineering group in New York City to build the core agent architecture, product surfaces, and systems that make human–AI collaboration reliable, expressive, and scalable. This is a high -ownership role for engineers who enjoy ambiguity, product thinking, and building foundational systems from first principles. The company is well -capitalized, backed by top -tier US investors, and offers competitive cash and equity.

Requirements

• Python
• TypeScript
• React.js
• Rust
• 3–10 years of experience shipping production software
• Startup experience or prior founding experience preferred
• Strong product intuition and comfort operating in ambiguous environments
• Experience or strong interest in one or more of the following:
• Agent systems with tool calling
• RAG and vector databases
• Distributed systems or performance -focused systems
• Heavy user of LLMs in daily development workflows (e.g., Cursor, Claude, similar tools)

Nice To Haves

• Strong personal passion or deep obsession in any domain (technology, games, music, sports, etc.)
• Interest in human cognition, psychology, or neuroscience
• Experience optimizing AI systems for real -world usage
• Vim, Emacs, or equivalent power -user tooling experience

Responsibilities

• Work on state -of -the -art memory and agent architectures
• Build systems that model cognition, writing style, and long -term memory
• Develop the platform that allows users to create and operate their personal AI agent
• Own frontend user experiences and product surfaces
• Build a flexible desktop application that works across apps and websites
• Develop communication systems enabling seamless interaction between humans and AI agents
• Contribute end -to -end across backend systems, agent tooling, and user -facing features

Benefits

• $175,000 – $275,000 base salary with 0% – 2.5% equity.
• Benefits include premium healthcare coverage, full -time in -office work in NYC (5 days per week), and all meals provided.
