Founding Full-Stack Engineer
About The Position
At OpenCFO, we’re building the AI-native agentic operating system for the modern CFO office. Enterprise finance is complex by nature. Money flows through multiple systems e.g., banks, ERPs, payment rails, and internal tools, which often do not talk to each other and further add to the complexity. Our goal is straightforward: every dollar should be visible, monitored, and handled efficiently. We’re bringing these systems into one platform. We give finance teams a unified real-time view of how money moves through the business. Using AI, we not only show, but also identify issues, recommend what to do next, and do them. We’re looking for a Founding Full-Stack Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of user-facing experiences and the systems behind them, and to help define our frontend and product engineering culture from the ground up.
Requirements
- Strong experience with React and TypeScript in production applications
- Experience building SPAs with modern tooling (Vite or similar)
- Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and component design
- Strong UI sensibility — you care deeply about usability, clarity, and polish
- Comfort working across the stack, even if your strength is frontend
- Ability to thrive in an early-stage startup with ambiguity, ownership, and speed
- Product mindset — you think in terms of user value, not just features
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Tailwind or other utility-first CSS frameworks
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
- Experience building fintech or enterprise SaaS UIs
- Exposure to AI-powered UX (LLM-driven workflows, assistants, or automation)
- Prior experience as an early engineer or founder
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end product development, from user experience to backend integration
- Build and scale a modern SPA using React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind
- Design intuitive, high-trust UIs for finance workflows (payments, approvals, dashboards)
- Collaborate closely with backend systems written in Go via well-designed APIs
- Translate product requirements into clean, maintainable components and state models
- Optimize frontend performance, bundle size, and load times for complex dashboards
- Work directly with founders and design partners to iterate rapidly on product direction
- Establish frontend best practices around architecture, testing, and developer experience
- Contribute across the stack when needed, including API design and data modeling discussions
