About The Position

Besty is building the AI brain for the $120B hotel and short-term rental industry. In less than two years, we've shipped a product loved by hundreds of paying hosts, achieving a 30% month-over-month revenue growth. We have raised over $4M from prominent investors, including the heads of the Stanford and Berkeley AI labs, and those behind Discord, Fastly, Hugging Face, Covariant, and Replicate. As one of our first five engineering hires, you will have the opportunity to shape the culture of the company for years to come.

Requirements

• Strong fundamentals in at least one backend language (TypeScript, Go, Rust, Python, etc.)
• Willingness to learn new technologies quickly
• Experience building impressive solo or side projects
• Ability to thrive in high-intensity environments
• Hungry, curious, and comfortable with minimal structure

Nice To Haves

• Experience founding or planning to found a startup
• Bias for shipping: fast feedback, tight loops

Responsibilities

• Own & ship features end-to-end - from whiteboard to production - across backend (Node + Postgres) and a React frontend
• Stand up new PMS integrations and latency/uptime targets as we scale from thousands to millions of API calls per day
• Pair with customers to surface pain points and ship fixes in hours
• Prototype AI workflows that automate messaging, dynamic pricing, and ops for hosts
