Founding Engineer (Full Stack)
About The Position
Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed AI startup building conversational agents that can run live product demos and automate sales workflows for B2B companies. Their platform replaces traditional sales motions with real-time, AI-driven interactions that adapt dynamically to user needs. With strong early traction—including rapid customer growth and increasing demand—the company is scaling quickly from a small founding team. This is a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor, working directly with the founders to define the product, architecture, and engineering culture.
Requirements
- 0–5 years of software engineering experience (exceptional new grads considered)
- Strong full-stack experience with React (frontend) and Python (backend)
- Experience building and shipping production systems used by real users
- Startup experience or strong interest in early-stage environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
- Comfortable working directly with customers and debugging real-world issues
- Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco (onsite role)
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on AI/LLM-based systems or automation tools
- Background in B2B SaaS, sales tech, or developer tools
- Strong product intuition and ability to make tradeoffs quickly
- Experience building customer-facing features with direct business impact
- Track record of high ownership (e.g., founding engineer, early startup hire, strong internships)
Responsibilities
- Build and ship full-stack features end-to-end , from backend systems to frontend UI
- Design and improve LLM-powered agent systems , including orchestration, evaluation, and self-improvement loops
- Debug real-world production issues using customer conversation logs and system behavior
- Develop generative UI experiences that adapt dynamically based on user interactions
- Build infrastructure for agent performance, versioning, and experimentation
- Work directly with customers to understand product gaps and ship solutions quickly
- Contribute to all areas of the system: backend APIs, frontend interfaces, AI pipelines, and infrastructure
- Operate in a fast-paced environment, shipping daily and iterating rapidly
Benefits
