About The Position

Sphere has built the world’s first AI-native tax engine that helps companies like Lovable, Eleven Labs, Replit, Runway AI, Windsurf (+ many more) automate their sales tax, VAT and GST obligations: We're growing rapidly (34%+ MoM revenue growth) and helping the fastest growing tech companies around the world including Lovable, Eleven Labs, Replit, Windsurf, Fathom, Linktree, Photoroom, Sierra AI, Zed etc We’ve spent the last 1.5 years building local rails into tax authorities in both the US and internationally to properly automate compliance processes (no other vendor has done this) We're building the world's first AI-native tax engine (which will be the foundation for a broader cross border compliance platform; think Deel for international billing) We're well funded by Felicis Ventures and YC Sphere is looking for a Founding CSM based in SF to work closely with our Founder (who has been doing founder-led CS to date) and engineering team to help build out our CS function. Requirements

  • Proven experience building out CS processes, teams, playbooks
  • Early-stage startup experience (building processes from scratch).
  • Experience in technical implementation so that you can shield our engineers from customer support issues
  • In-person: SF only.
  • Hunter: Grit > pedigree.
  • Fast shipper: If it can be done today, do it today.
  • Self-starter: No hand-holding
  • Accountability: You’ll be held accountable to objective, measurable targets each month.

Responsibilities

  • Full stack CS: Triaging customer issues, helping maintain our industry leading Time To Resolution metrics, expading our customer contracts, assisting with technical implementation
  • Enhance our CS ops stack: We manage customer support in Slack and use Pylon as our infrastructure. We'll expect you to build on / improve that
  • Build out CS processes / playbook: You have the chance to define our CS processes and build a team underneath you
  • Ramp on compliance expertise: You're helping customers deal with cross border compliance - its a technical subject that requires expertise.
