About The Position

AI has changed how (and how fast) engineering teams build and ship code. But productionizing code still runs at human speed, and that gap is becoming every engineering team's biggest bottleneck. TierZero is how fast-moving engineering teams manage code in production: faster incident response, full operational visibility, and distributed knowledge across every engineer on the team. We've raised $7M from top investors like Accel and SV Angel, and are trusted by companies like Discord, Drata, and Framer to run their high-scale systems and build the infrastructure layer for their AI-era engineering teams. This is TierZero's first operations hire. You'll work directly with the CEO across sales, marketing, compliance, and internal operations, wearing many hats and context-switching constantly. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in operations, finance, or a generalist role at a startup or high-performance environment (banking, consulting, PE backgrounds welcome)
  • Can demonstrate experience with AI tools and workflow automation: you use Claude, Cursor, OpenClaw, or similar tools as a daily accelerant
  • Energized by a generalist, build-from-scratch environment; doesn't need a large team or established processes to do great work
  • Strong analytical skills: comfortable with Google Sheets/Excel, data synthesis, and structured research
  • High bar for quality: strong opinions about what makes sales and marketing collateral feel sharp and trustworthy, and the ability to execute on them
  • Strong communicator and sharp thinker: equally comfortable drafting an RFP response and building a competitor matrix
  • Genuinely curious about the developer tools space: you don't need to be an engineer, but you need to be willing to learn the language
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, sporadic demands, and interrupt-driven work; thrives on variety over deep specialization
  • Knows when to go deep and when to ask for help
  • Willing to work in-person at our San Francisco office 3 days a week

Responsibilities

  • Handle whatever needs doing today - this role is defined by the company's needs, but below are examples of what your day to day could look like.
  • Be a strategic thought partner to the CEO on how TierZero shows up in market as the category evolves
  • Build competitive intelligence, battle cards, and positioning documents that shorten deal cycles
  • Develop sales collateral that reinforces why TierZero is categorically different from legacy incident management tools and retrofitted pre-AI platforms
  • Create marketing materials, buyer's guides, and website content aligned with customer language
  • Build production-ready agents and automation to reach the right ICPs with personalized messaging at the right time
  • Support content strategy, SEO/GEO initiatives, and community-led demand gen
  • Drive compliance updates with auditors and lead certification programs (e.g. SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, ISO 27001)
