About The Position

Roadrunner Venture Studios, a leading venture studio for deep tech innovation, has been selected by the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) to lead a $25 million initiative to accelerate quantum innovation and company-creation in the state of New Mexico. The Roadrunner-led Coalition will bring together premier quantum researchers, investors, and founders to create a quantum campus in Downtown Albuquerque’s Innovation District. The quantum venture studio campus will feature a multi-node quantum network, dilution refrigerators, a quantum testbed, quantum packaging and demonstration facilities, and a rapid prototyping center. The campus will co-locate the packaging facility from the Elevate Quantum Tech Hub and serve as the headquarters for the Quantum New Mexico Institute. Roadrunner is making the quantum hub the most important six block radius for quantum innovation in the country. Our vision is to fuel the next generation of quantum companies. As a Founder in Residence, you’ll join an elite 12-month, fully funded residency program designed to attract the most exceptional technologists, scientists, and builders from around the world and support them in launching groundbreaking quantum startups in New Mexico. Quantum is too fragmented for any one person to succeed alone. That’s why this program is building a curated cohort of founders, each bringing unique expertise, and embedding them in a state-of-the-art quantum lab with cross-functional teams spanning physics, engineering, fabrication, software, and market strategy. Together, you’ll shape the next generation of quantum companies.

• Deep expertise in quantum or adjacent deep tech fields (hardware, software, networking, sensing, or materials).
• A track record of high-impact technical or entrepreneurial achievements.
• A builder’s mindset and the drive to move from idea to company creation.
• Ability to collaborate across disciplines and lead diverse technical teams.
• Vision, grit, and the ambition to turn scientific advances into world-changing ventures.
