About The Position

The Foundations of Teacher Education Adjunct Faculty provide instruction for the practicum courses. This position includes visiting practicum/clinical sites to observe, mentor, and evaluate students in their field-based learning experiences. The FoTE Adjunct Instructor has experience in, and can model the behaviors of, applying child development theory into practice; cultivating relationships with children and youth assessing child growth and development; using best practices in teaching and learning; demonstrating professionalism; and working in a team environment. Provide an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers throughout every interaction.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Elementary or Secondary Education or related program from a regionally accredited college or university in a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years (4,000 hours) experience working with children or youth in a structured educational environment.
  • Two years' teaching experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Adapt quickly to new and changing technology.
  • Perform work accurately and thoroughly, with a high level of accountability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for placing learning first and providing educational experiences for learners in various delivery formats, schedules, and in various places in accordance with the mission of the college inclusive of: facilitating learning of diverse students, assessing student performance, as well as instruction and outcomes, developing and maintaining current/relevant course materials, and communicating with the community, other schools, the college, the division, and team members.
  • Provide high-quality instruction in assigned courses following program curriculum, learning outcomes, and institutional standards.
  • Conduct practicum site visits to observe students, assess performance, and ensure alignment with course and program objectives.
  • Create and maintain effective relationships with industry professionals for the purpose of establishing long-term practicum sites.
  • Communicate regularly with the program faculty regarding student progress and practicum site conditions.
