About The Position

The first two years of medical student training (the Foundations of Clinical Medicine curriculum) consists of two integrated tracks, medical knowledge-based (or contextual learning) and applied practice (or procedural learning). This position is responsible for coordination of the procedural learning content provided to students and primarily supports Clinical Skills (CS) training as well as providing support for training initiatives in Community and Population Health (CPH), Evidence Based Clinical Decision Making (EBCDM), Procedures, Ethics, Resiliency and Professional Identity Formation (RPIF), and Interprofessional Education (IPE). The Foundations of Clinical Medicine Coordinator facilitates mission-critical processes and learning activities in the Medical School necessitating interaction and communication with students, faculty, staff, and administration. They play a significant role in managing, organizing, distributing, and achieving curricular materials, managing teaching sessions, overseeing student assessment and faculty evaluations, and support for patient-centered learning activities. As part of a team responsible for entering, maintaining, and analyzing highly confidential data, they are expected to maintain strict privacy and are expected to cultivate, develop, and manage relationships with students, faculty, and fellow staff members. As a member of the Office of Curriculum, they should be adaptable to the constantly changing needs of the curriculum and students and are obligated to participate in their own life-long learning. Organizationally, this position reports to the Campus Associate Dean for Curriculum but primarily supports the day-to-day activities of the Director of Clinical Skills, collaborating with the Standardized Patient Coordinator and other clinical training faculty and staff.
