About The Position

The Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) is seeking a Foundations Grants Administrator to join its Development team in Charlottesville, VA. This full-time, exempt position plays a crucial role in preparing and managing financial support from funders, contributing to SELC's mission of addressing pressing environmental issues. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders and requires a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five years of accounting, fundraising, grants administration, financial management, and/or related experience, with a preference for experience in accounting, financial reporting, and project management.
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office software, with a preference for experience working with accounting software.
  • A genuine interest in and commitment to helping SELC create and foster a more diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.

  • Experience with accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop budgets and financial reports for proposals and reports for foundations and other funders.
  • Serve as the project manager for the preparation of grant proposals and reports for funders, ensuring timely submission.
  • Coordinate and facilitate internal concept meetings including fundraisers, attorneys, and writers.
  • Partner with development and finance colleagues to ensure that information related to grants is well-documented and entered appropriately into the development database and accounting system.
  • Prepare state and programmatic budgets in partnership with the Program Director and HR colleagues, responding to internal and external requests for financial information.
