About The Position

As the Foundational Department Administrative Assistant 2, you will report to the Operations Manager and serve as the primary point of contact for the Foundational Practice Department in the College of Nursing. You will provide comprehensive administrative support to the department chair, coordinate departmental programs, and serve as a liaison between the chair and faculty. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the chair, program directors, and the operations manager to fulfill a broad range of responsibilities. In this role, you will exercise delegated authority to coordinate and provide administrative and staff support services during the absence of a supervisor, ensuring continuity of operations and adherence to established policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND two (2) years of clerical, office or administrative experience; OR one (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1.
  • Experience preparing correspondence, reports, and/or presentations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and events.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Demonstrated experience providing exemplary customer service.
  • Strong computer skills including familiarity and comfort with using Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint as well as Google Docs.
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clientele.
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with diverse groups.
  • Willingness and ability to take on new assignments and learn new skills as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience providing complex administrative oversight and assistance to a senior administrator preferable in a higher education environment.
  • Experience managing schedules and travel arrangements.
  • Experience working in an academic environment.
  • Experience with Workday Enterprise Management System.
  • Professional trajectory includes increasingly responsible administrative support experience.
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding FERPA.
