About The Position

The Foundation Finance and Operations Officer at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is responsible for providing financial leadership and ensuring sound fiscal practices within the NWTC Educational Foundation. This role involves managing all accounting and finance functions, preparing financial reports, overseeing banking and accounts payable/receivable, and providing financial recommendations to the Foundation leadership and Board of Directors. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance the Foundation's operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • Advanced experience in charitable foundation fund accounting.
  • Five years of progressively increasing responsibility in accounting, preferably in education or non-profit organizations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
  • Ability to interact professionally with diverse individuals and groups.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with fund accounting for 501(c) organizations.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud's Financial Edge and Raiser's Edge software.
  • CPA designation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial leadership to ensure sound fiscal practices for the NWTC Educational Foundation.
  • Perform all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting and presentation.
  • Design, analyze, and present financial reports for various audiences.
  • Manage short-term investment funds and annual audit activities.
  • Oversee banking and accounts payable/accounts receivable functions.
  • Provide financial recommendations to Foundation leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Manage daily operations, including cash management and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Conduct annual spend analysis and make recommendations for endowment spending.
  • Prepare and provide workpapers for annual audit activities and tax return preparation.
  • Attend Finance & Investment Committee and Board meetings to present financial statements.
