About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, the , Corporation and Research Manager oversees all grants activities on behalf of the Trust and Concord Hospital, including prospect research, proposal writing, submission and follow-up. The Officer manages Corporate Relations by engaging directly with business supporters and prospects to involve them further in the work of the Trust. This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but leads and supervises individual volunteers and associated committees in support of outreach and relations goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree Required. Masters preferred.
  • Minimum of three years grant writing and/or corporate relations experience within a not-for-profit organization with measurable results.
  • Ability to utilize Word XP and Excel Spreadsheet software required, and Raisers Edge experience desirable.
  • Knowledge of traditional grammar rules vital and the ability to craft well organized, cohesive and compelling requests necessary.
  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

  • Develops and adheres to annual grants budget (revenue and expense) in accordance with Trust goals and benchmarks.
  • Manage a docket of foundations and other institutional funders including writing, preparation, and submission of proposals, letters of intent, reports, and other materials.
  • Manages and implements the Trust's grants program, including prospect identification and research, proposal development and submission and follow-up reporting, as required.
  • Develops and implements an annual written plan and time line for both grant and corporate outreach activities.
  • Collaborates with Hospital Managers to identify prospective grant funding for their area and provide support for proposal submission and follow-up.
  • Develops and maintains positive relations with foundation and corporate funders and prospective funders.
  • Works collaboratively with Concord Hospital Trust team to ensure the most viable cultivation, solicitation and recognition for business supporters.
  • Ensure all proposals, reports, and supplemental materials are completed on schedule and in compliance with grant requirements.
  • Draft reports to funders that clearly describe goals achieved as well as metrics and milestones.
  • Draft compelling narratives for funding proposals to secure revenue for general operating support, ongoing or new programs, and special projects.
  • Coordinate staff participation and involvement during proposal design, development, and implementation phases to ensure agreement with goals and objectives, feasibility, and funding needs.
  • Work with program leads across the organization to create and maintain boilerplate content and program narratives that make a strong case for funding.
  • Collaborate with team and department heads to understand program needs and assess compatibility with available funding opportunities.
  • Create timelines and manage project plans that allow for meeting multiple, often competing deadlines.
  • Develop formal, internal processes for grant writing operations, ensuring efficiency and transparency for the entire life cycle of each funder.
  • Support the tracking and administering of grants.
  • Assist in preparation for funder visits, reviews, and evaluations; participate as appropriate.
  • Support transition of RnR to philanthropy officer overseeing event.
  • Manages and oversees the research process, reporting, and identification of all potential prospects.
  • Works in collaboration with Trust Database Manager, Director of Philanthropy, Director of Advancement and CAO to identify top prospects.
  • Lead Blackbaud research and analytics process for Trust team.
  • Performs face to face solicitation to a range of prospects and donors by initiating contact, developing cultivation strategies and moving donors toward giving and/or increased giving.
  • Participates in regular donor cultivation and solicitation outreach to secure contributions.
  • Participates in Comprehensive Campaign planning and strategic discussions.
  • Participates in Moves Management meetings to discuss and execute strategy, timing, solicitations and research.
  • Oversee extraction and interpret prospect and donor information from the CRM and prepare/present reports for internal and external audiences.
  • Identify and research sources of potential funders to bolster the pipeline of prospective sources aligned with CH system strategy and fundraising priorities.
  • In partnership with Trust Team and Special Events Manager, build Benefactors Circle and corporate sponsorships including corporate sponsorships of events.
  • Manage prospect opportunity pipeline reports and dashboards.
  • Develop and manage a major gift qualification process
