About The Position

The Foster Youth Program Resource Director/LCSW will lead the implementation and partnerships for the YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles' Foster Youth Empowerment Initiative. This role focuses on designing, implementing, and overseeing programs that support the well-being and successful transition of foster youth into adulthood. The director will collaborate with various stakeholders to create a comprehensive support system tailored to the unique needs of foster youth.

Requirements

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California.
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited school.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with foster youth, including three years in program management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices for foster youth.
  • Strong knowledge of the foster care system and child welfare policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in case management software and data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Infant Child Adult CPR & AED and Basic First Aid certified or willing to obtain certification within 60 days of hire.
  • Familiarity with mandated reporting procedures and safety management.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative programs for foster youth aged 12-24, including life skills training and mental health services.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with foster care agencies, schools, and community organizations.
  • Recruit and provide clinical supervision to program volunteers and interns.
  • Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for foster youth.
  • Develop long-term strategies for empowering foster youth and supporting their transition to adulthood.
  • Manage program budgets and pursue funding opportunities for program sustainability.
  • Scale the Foster Youth Initiative and establish a team of program coordinators and support staff.
  • Ensure programs are accessible and appealing to foster youth through effective outreach strategies.
  • Implement data collection systems to track program outcomes and measure impact.
  • Represent the YMCA's Foster Youth Empowerment Initiative at community events and stakeholder meetings.
