About The Position

As a Foster/Resource Parent Mentor you will provide direct support, training, and assisting parents and caregivers in navigating systems of care for youth in their home. Developing structured and positive relationships with Caregivers to empower them to succeed in parenting youth impacted by trauma. Services are primarily delivered in a community setting, to parents who are caring for youth with identified behavioral and/or mental health concerns. Parent mentoring is client driven and provided during times identified as most relevant to the client (may include some nights, early mornings, and occasional weekends). You will use a combination of modalities including Motivational Interviewing and Collaborative Problem Solving in order to accomplish specific goals identified with the client.

Requirements

Must be willing and able to drive up to one (1) hour to meet with clients
High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
One (1) year of relevant experience (additional education may substitute for years of experience)
Prior experience working or caring for youth who exhibit challenging behavior
Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and auto insurance
Ability to pass fingerprinting and background checks
