About The Position

ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. They are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its locations in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida. This position leads the Licensing team engaged in reviewing initial cases for licensure or re-licensure, assessing child placement and child caring agencies concerns, and responds and administers program procedures and policies. The Licensing Manager supervises and coordinates Licensing Specialists to support and monitor ChildNet’s contracted services programs and providers, including the licensing process, guidelines, foster home and childcare agency staff reviews.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience in Human Services of Child Welfare programs
  • At least one (1) year of experience in Foster Home or Kinship Licensing
  • Certified Child Welfare Professional

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Case Manager or Licensing Specialist
  • Five (5) years of experience in Child Welfare
  • Strategic planning, short- and long-term goal development experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health or related field

Responsibilities

  • Trains and motivates team members under their leadership in accomplishing work objectives as assigned.
  • Tracks performance measurements to regularly assess the effectiveness of the licensing department.
  • Provides leadership to the licensing team in the implementation of short and long-term goals.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert to departments across ChildNet and external partners.
  • Manages file distribution and workload of licensing specialist to ensure all licenses and relicenses are issued timely.
  • Addresses community concerns, attends ICANS staffings, monitors foster home issues, and develops and implements corrective action plans.
  • Reviews cases for initial licensure or re-licensure, assesses child placing and child caring agencies’ concerns, responds to inquiries, administers program procedures and policies.
  • Takes the lead on special projects as assigned by Senior Leadership.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
