About The Position

The Foster Family Adoption Program Manager (FFAPM) at Aviva Family and Children's Services is responsible for overseeing the Foster Family Adoption program, including supervising staff, managing adoptions, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work.
  • Minimum of 2 years of FFA experience in a social service setting, completing adoptions preferred.
  • Experience as a supervisor required.
  • Valid CA driver's license.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise FFA supervisor, administrative assistant, and other assigned staff.
  • Conduct initial assessments for adoptive families and children.
  • Conduct adoption signings and finalizations, including completing PARP documentation.
  • Provide ongoing training, evaluation, and monitoring of foster and adoptive parents.
  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with County and agency regulations.
  • Recruit, train, and monitor services for resource parents.
  • Develop and implement program-wide initiatives.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the FFA program and ensure compliance with DSS and DCFS regulations.
  • Provide case management and coordination of services as required by contract and ILS Version 7 regulations.
  • Participate in recruitment of resource parents, including orientation and training of applicants.
  • Regularly update case-related documentation within specified time frames.
  • Provide support to foster parents and ensure enforcement of safety and health standards per Title XXII regulations.
  • Coordinate and maintain documentation for adoptive placements, finalization, and DSS billing.
  • Manage a caseload of foster and/or adoptive children and their families.
  • Assess referrals for placement appropriateness.
  • Facilitate intake assessments and placements of children.
  • Collaborate with agency staff to enhance the clients' therapeutic milieu experience.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary documents, including case-related recordings and discharge summaries.
  • Provide appropriate discharge and aftercare planning.
  • Maintain communication with outside agencies and their representatives.
  • Act as a liaison among Placement and Recruitment, CSWs, attorneys, and adoptive parents for adoptive placements.
  • Attend staff meetings, training, conferences, and relevant informational meetings.
  • Maintain electronic and paper files for foster/adoptive parents and children.
  • Conduct visitation with placed children as per contractual agreements with DCFS and Title XXII for both FFA and adoptions.
  • Complete Suspected Child Abuse Reports (SCARs).
  • Assist in the development of adoption programs and promotional materials.
  • Supervise additional staff as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects.
  • Oversee the Foster Family and Adoption Agency programs and office operations.
  • Assign cases to social worker staff and monitor case assignments.
  • Review initial, quarterly, and termination reports, ensuring timely submission by staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Community Care Licensing and DFCS auditors/investigators.
