About The Position

Using the Teaching-Family Model, the Foster Care Supervisor provides primary supervision of case management services for children and youth placed in Children’s Hope Alliance foster care programs, including family foster care, therapeutic foster care, and IAFT. Foster Care Supervisors are accountable for ensuring services are rendered according to accredidation, licensing, & regulatory standards. Foster Care Supervisors are accountable for ensuring key performance indicators are met for the program. Foster Care Supervisors are accountable for ensuring Children’s Hope Alliance values and principles are carried out in the program, this includes, but is not limited to, fiscal responsibility, being outcome-driven, family & child centered, and mission oriented.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Psychology, social work, or related field
• Previous work experience in a related field
• Three years experience in foster care case management and/or supervisory experience in case management/social work or Master’s degree in human services
• Qualified Professional (QP) child specific certification required

Responsibilities

• Serve as a member of the department leadership team.
• Participate in the department’s daily operations call.
• Responsible for ensuring program census is maintained within agency approved budgets.
• Ensure Teaching-Family Model is implemented in the program, including key elements of facilitative administration, training, coaching, & evaluation.
• Complete all preservice training in required time frames.
• Annually complete 24 hours of required training, including training in the Teaching-Family Model.
• Use agency assigned performance tracking tools to monitor and correct performance.
• Ensure the program operates according to the Program Manual.
• Attend to Business Relations: primary focus will be on developing formal partnerships with referral sources, soliciting feedback from stakeholders, and establishing lines of communication that improve the working relationships between the organization and its customers, with the goal of connecting children to licensed families with the organization.
• Collaborate with licensing staff in conducting the training and licensing foster parent pre-service and in-service training schedule.
• Responsible for screening referrals, coordinating placement activities with case managers, and when necessary, assisting with placements.
• When necessary, provide case management services, entering the rotation in the event of staff crisis (illness, injury, other absence) or team vacancy.
• Facilitate a monthly case consultation meeting.
• Ensure the agency approved professional agenda is followed.
• Ensure Teaching-Family Model interventions are reviewed in the meeting, and agency approved clinical measure tools are being used by staff to assess client disposition.
• Demonstrate cultural and age specific competency.
• Complete one phone contact a month with at least one family per Case Manager.
• Complete a home visit quarterly with at least one family per Case Manager.
• When screening potential placements, evaluate foster parent skill level to assure best placement match with foster famlies and children.
• When necessary, assist Recruiter/Trainer to assess skill set for potential foster family prior to licensing.
• Evaluate skill level of foster parents by reviewing quarterly licensing visits with foster care case managers.
• Assist with monthly in-service trainings for foster parents.
• Serve as a primary or secondary evaluator of families being certified in the Teaching-Family Model.
