As a Foster Care Specialist, you will walk alongside foster parents and children to promote safety, stability, and well-being while helping placements thrive. Support children and foster families through regular fieldwork. You’ll conduct home visits, attend court hearings and Family Team Meetings, assist with transportation when needed, participate in events, maintain consistent communication with families, and serve in on-call rotations. Maintain accurate reports and documentation. You’ll complete required monthly reports, keep organized digital and physical case records, and ensure all documentation—such as placement and incident reports—is submitted accurately and on time. Collaborate with your team and supervisor. You’ll participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and cross-functional conversations that support alignment, problem-solving, and shared responsibility for children in care. Advocate for children and continue professional growth. You’ll apply trauma-informed practices, serve as a liaison to ensure children receive needed supports, and complete ongoing training to strengthen your skills and effectiveness.
