About The Position
As a Foster Care Specialist at Bethany Christian Services, you will play a crucial role in providing case management services to children in care. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about supporting vulnerable children and families, ensuring that children can safely return home or receive the best alternative permanent plan when returning home is not an option. You will work within a framework of agency, federal, and state regulatory requirements, providing moderate supervision while adhering to established procedures and guidelines. Your responsibilities will include coordinating community referrals, maintaining regular contact with foster families, and developing Individual Service Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with various stakeholders. You will also be expected to attend court hearings, participate in training, and stay informed about community resources to effectively support families in need. In this role, you will be expected to manage case files and documentation accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with reporting guidelines set forth by the agency and funding entities. You will also provide supportive social services to children, birth families, and foster families during initial placements and transitions. The position requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule and the ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed. Your work will directly impact the lives of children and families, making it essential to demonstrate excellent communication skills, crisis intervention abilities, and a commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
