About The Position

The Foster Care Licensing Social Worker position in Kinston involves working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youths and their families. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and certification as a MAPP-TIPS trainer. The position is full-time and exempt, requiring some evening, weekend, and holiday availability. The individual must provide 24-hour accessibility and support for Foster Care Social Worker Staff. Responsibilities include developing recruitment campaigns, maintaining media relations, supervising foster parent training, and ensuring compliance with licensing standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Certified MAPP-TIPS trainer.
• At least three years of experience working with emotionally and behaviorally disturbed youths and their families.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license and insurable by BGHNC carrier.
• Ability to demonstrate technical and program skills required of a Foster Care Social Worker.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience with promotional work.
• Teaching Family Model of Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and supervise recruitment campaign.
• Maintain positive relations with representatives of the press and media.
• Hold regularly scheduled conferences with the Foster Care Licensing Social Worker Supervisor for planning and evaluating programs.
• Assist with all facets of foster parent recruitment and selection.
• Supervise and coordinate all facets of foster parent training.
• Model appropriate moral, ethical, professional values.
• Adhere to standards set forth by NCDSS on foster home licensing.
• Coordinate in-service training for the area.
• Complete quarterly visits with all licensed foster parents.
• Complete re-licensing packets for state approval.
• Keep all foster parent files updated to meet state and COA standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
