Devereux’s Foster Care Programs provide therapeutic, family‑based care for children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, emotional or behavioral challenges, or instability in their home environments. These programs partner with the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) and local lead agencies to recruit, train, and support therapeutic foster parents who can meet the complex needs of youth requiring more than traditional foster care. Foster families receive ongoing specialized training, clinical consultation, and behavioral support tools so they can implement strategies that promote safety, stability, and positive behavioral change. Clinicians work closely with children, caregivers, and support systems to create individualized treatment plans, provide counseling, and build life and coping skills. Devereux Florida provides programs and services for children and adolescents in the child welfare and foster care system. Based out of Sarasota, FL, this position is responsible for recruitment and initial licensure and re-licensure of foster homes, visiting foster homes, and providing training and support to foster parents. Position Details: Salary: Starts at $24.04 - 28.23 / hr (rate is based on education and relevant experience) Schedule: Full-Time; community based position-works around families schedules. Coverage Responsiblity: Sarasota, Manatee, & DeSoto counties

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field required
  • Two years experience working with foster families preferred.
  • Certification as a Child Welfare Licensing Counselor by the Florida Certification Board OR must be provisionally certified with completion of PRIDE training required
  • Valid FL driver's license required
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings which include: Drug Screen and TB Test.
  • Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida. To learn more visit: https://info.flclearinghouse.com.
  • Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing.
  • Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more.
  • Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior foster home licensing experience a plus
