About The Position

Foster Care Case Manager $3,000 SIGN-ON BONUS available! Case management position to carry cases for foster care. The ability to engage with diverse families, good oral and written communication skills, valid driver's license, be able to pass all background checks, professional and working relationships with service providers, court personnel, and DCFS staff. Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure at times. Have knowledge of computer skills and the ability to be on call at times. Including evenings, nights, and some Saturdays, in potentially high-risk neighborhoods

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required Human Services Field or Related preferred
  • CWEL CANS, CERAP, Placement Specialty preferred
  • CWEL can only be obtained in Illinois and by working for an agency contracted through DCFS to provide child welfare services. Employees that do not have a CWEL will need to go through training and pass the tests within 60 days of hire.
  • Must have a good driving record and willingness to travel. This role requires Case Managers to drive 70% of the time.
  • Must pass DCFS required tests to become a Licensed Child Welfare Specialist within 60 days of hire.
  • Must become Solution-Based Casework certified within 9 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a conduit of information between all parties to the case and identified stakeholders, including medical, educational and mental health providers.
  • Conduct visits with children, parents and/or caregivers that include the on-going assessment of child safety, permanency, and well-being.
  • Develop and implement a plan that meets the needs of the children and the family.
  • Facilitate placement and delivery of services in collaboration with biological, foster and adoptive families.
  • Perform case management responsibilities in accordance with state and federal laws, Department of Children and Families Administrative Codes and Operating Procedures, funding source policies and internal policies on child abuse, abandonment, and neglect within required timeframes.
  • Attend court hearings, prepare and file all court documents within required timeframes.
