About The Position

The Foster Care Case Aide provides administrative and case management support services within the Unaccompanied Refugee Minor (URM) Program at LSSNCA. This role works closely with Case Managers and program leadership to ensure accurate documentation, coordinated services, and alignment with state and federal URM program requirements. The Case Aide plays a key role in supporting refugee youth and foster families by assisting with service coordination, benefit applications, and transportation needs. This position does not carry an independent caseload but serves as essential operational and field-based support to ensure youth and families receive timely, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed services. Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with unaccompanied refugee minors (URM), foster care, or immigrant youth populations preferred.
  • Familiarity with child welfare regulations, federal/state compliance, and ORR-funded programs strongly preferred.
  • Experience with documentation management, case tracking, or benefit applications (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP) desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach to working with youth and families.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish/English) strongly preferred; additional languages relevant to URM populations a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, organized, and up-to-date client records in accordance with URM, state, and federal requirements.
  • Conduct structured reviews of case files to ensure required documentation is complete, current, and properly filed.
  • Track and monitor deadlines for service plans, court documentation, medical records, immigration-related documents, and compliance requirements.
  • Follow up with staff, foster parents, service providers, and external partners to obtain outstanding documentation.
  • Assist in preparing case files and supporting documentation for internal reviews, licensing inspections, and federal monitoring visits.
  • Support the completion and submission of benefit applications including Medicaid, SNAP, and other public assistance programs.
  • Research and coordinate community-based services and resources for youth and foster families.
  • Provide scheduled transportation to youth and families for medical appointments, court hearings, school meetings, and other required services.
  • Accurately document all client contacts, transportation activities, and service coordination in the agency’s case management system.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with youth, foster parents, community partners, and agency staff.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and respond to urgent situations under supervisory guidance.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with agency policy and applicable laws.
  • Work effectively in both office and community-based environments.
  • Manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting required timelines.
