About The Position

The Foster Care Advocate is responsible for foster parent recruitment and strengthening community and church partnerships to advance the organization’s mission. This role serves as a key ambassador for the agency within the assigned region, developing and executing strategic outreach initiatives to increase awareness of foster care needs and mobilize community support. The Foster Care Advocate works independently while collaborating closely with the Foster Care Manager to achieve annual recruitment and engagement goals, and provides ongoing encouragement and relational support to foster families.

Requirements

  • A Christian with strong convictions who is also in agreement with Josiah White’s mission statement, Statement of Faith, and Code of Conduct.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree and/or experience in marketing, sales, or public relations is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Foster Parent Recruitment: Develop and implement targeted outreach strategies to increase foster parent inquiries and conversions within the assigned region.
  • Community and Church Engagement: Build and sustain relationships with churches, businesses, and community organizations to promote foster care awareness and recruit foster parents.
  • Public Advocacy and Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for the organization by delivering presentations, conducting cold calls, and marketing programs and services at community events.
  • Foster Family Support: Provide ongoing relational support and encouragement to foster families, including communication, event engagement, and assistance during challenging situations.
  • Strategic Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, interactions, and outcomes, and regularly report progress, barriers, and recommendations.
  • Planning and Goal Achievement: Partner with the Foster Care Manager to create and execute individualized recruitment and engagement plans aligned with annual objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal staff to align recruitment efforts with regional priorities and organizational initiatives.
