About The Position

Texas Baptist Home for Children (TBHC) serves foster children and supports foster/adoptive families throughout the DFW area. We are a Christian agency whose purpose is to: Glorify God by Caring for Children. Our Foster Care/Adoption Case Managers role is to provide counsel and training to foster/adoptive families as well as coordinating services for each foster child. To provide the quality care to the children and families, this will require team coordination, organization and some travel throughout the DFW area. (DFW area includes but not limited to the following counties: Dallas, Ellis, Tarrant, Johnson, Rockwall, Kaufman, Denton, Collin) Must have a degree in Social Work or a related field. Schedule Office Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00-5:00 May require after hours to complete services for clients Occasional weekends for special events On Call Rotation Schedule

Responsibilities

  • Provide foster care and adoption services (as assigned) according to the DFPS Foster Care and Adoption contracts
  • Maintain compliance with all DFPS, TBHC, and Foster Care/Adoption program policies, procedures, and regulations related to program
  • Provide direct case management services for TBHC licensed foster/adopt families and children in care
  • Advocate for children in care by coordinating and working with TBHC treatment team members, DFPS staff, community agencies, service providers, stakeholders, and attorneys; serve as a liaison with such entities while representing TBHC in a professional manner.
  • Complete and submit all necessary documentation accurately, including case files, contacts, and enter information into the computer data system in a timely fashion.
  • Contribute to Foster Care departmental success by assisting in recruiting and training foster/adopt parents, conducting home studies, marketing TBHC foster care services, or providing training on selected topics.
  • Assist in building and nurturing a department atmosphere of teamwork, cooperation, and communication; build and nurture relationships with staff members that are characterized by trust, cooperation, and support.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population’s culture and socioeconomic characteristics.
