About The Position
The Picker position at Tyson Foods in Amarillo, TX, is a full-time role focused on ensuring the timely loading of trailers and maintaining inventory flow within the forward warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating a forklift to move pallets, load, and unload trailers while adhering to safety protocols. This role requires a certified operator to log into the forklift system and accurately answer safety check questions before commencing operations. Safety is paramount, and any incidents, damages, or accidents must be reported to management immediately. In addition to forklift operation, the Picker will be required to lift boxes weighing up to 100 pounds, adjust, and hand-wrap pallets. The job demands physical stamina, as candidates must be able to work in extreme cold, dry environments (32 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit) and stand for 8-12 hours a day. The role also involves working with various meat products, including beef, chicken, and pork. Candidates should be prepared to use powered equipment such as low boys, stand-up forklifts, and scanners. The work schedule for this position is Thursday through Sunday from 08:00 PM to 06:00 AM. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods must adhere to a 180-day rehire waiting period and a three-time limit for reapplication.
