Forward Deployed Product Lead

Bunkerhill HealthSan Francisco, CA
12d

About The Position

Bunkerhill partners with leading health systems to design and deploy AI-enhanced clinical workflows that are used in real clinical operations. We work directly with clinicians, operations leaders, and IT teams to turn messy clinical reality into scalable, high-impact AI workflows. We are hiring our first Forward Deployed Product Leads to work directly with health systems and own the successful deployment of AI-enabled care delivery. You will be one of the first people in this role and will help define how AI workflows are designed, deployed, and scaled across Bunkerhill’s customer base. The Forward Deployed Product Lead owns the end-to-end success of AI deployments across a portfolio of health systems—from discovery through go-live and ongoing optimization. This is a hands-on role. You will personally design, configure, and deploy AI workflows and agents inside Bunkerhill’s platform—not just define requirements for others to build. Role mix (approx.): 25% pre-sales: discovery, solution design, demos, pilot scoping 75% post-sales: implementation, workflow build-out, training, iteration, and optimization

Requirements

  • You have a strong sense of ownership and are comfortable being accountable for real-world outcomes.
  • You have a solid clinical foundation and can quickly learn new clinical domains and workflows.
  • You are comfortable working directly with both frontline clinical staff and senior executives.
  • You think like a product builder: you see patterns across customers, write clearly, and focus on scalable solutions rather than one-off custom work.
  • You are excited about LLMs as practical tools for building durable workflows, not just demos.
  • You are structured and analytical, but pragmatic and scrappy in imperfect environments.
  • A traditional software engineering background is not required; experience building within platforms, configuring complex systems, or deploying operational workflows is a strong fit.

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, and refine AI agents and prompt logic within the platform using modern LLM tools.
  • Formalize clinical reasoning and workflow logic into structured, reliable, and audit-friendly agent designs.
  • Evaluate outputs against clinical and operational expectations; debug edge cases and failure modes.
  • Develop reusable workflow patterns and agent templates that can be deployed across customers.
  • Map current-state clinical workflows and design future-state workflows that incorporate AI agents and automation.
  • Assemble end-to-end solutions using Bunkerhill’s platform (data inputs → AI agents → work queues → clinician UI → reporting).
  • Identify product gaps encountered in the field and write concise product briefs to unlock new capabilities, speed deployments, and expand into new specialties.
  • Partner closely with engineering and product teams to refine, prioritize, and ship improvements.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day partner for health system customers, working with frontline staff (schedulers, nurses, coordinators), managers, and executive leaders.
  • Run structured discovery to understand current workflows, pain points, clinical constraints, and operational goals.
  • Translate ambiguous problems into clearly scoped deployments with defined success criteria.
  • Drive change management: timelines, stakeholder alignment, training sessions, rollout plans, and adoption tracking.
  • Build trust through clear, respectful communication at every level of the organization.
