About The Position

BAE Systems is looking for a dynamic Field Engineer to provide comprehensive Field Engineering and Repair Services for the U2 Electronic Warfare (EW) system at Worldwide locations. This person would primarily support the OCONUS location known as TDY5 as part of a small high performing team. This role includes electronic system repair, mission analysis, design updates, problem reporting, and various analytical tasks to determine problem root causes. This role requires highly respectful interaction with customers and effective timely communication to the managerial team. RF EW offers an interesting and infinitely challenging career opportunity with the potential to enhance technically and to elevate into engineering design and leadership roles. The team environment provides excellent learning opportunities ranging from EW concepts to sophisticated diagnostic tools. This person will work cooperatively with military personnel to assess missions, diagnose failures, facilitate repairs, and upgrade the product. This person will also interface directly with subject matter experts in various hardware and software domains and will be able to afford opportunities to gain knowledge in these areas. Successful candidates must possess: Organizational Level experience which includes working around aircraft, reading schematics/diagrams, and using technical manuals. Exhibit logical approaches to diagnostics and troubleshooting. Possess a strong knowledge of power generation and distribution systems. Possess experience with RADAR or EW or similar RF systems. Ability to troubleshoot transmission lines and antennas. Is proficient with lab test equipment (O-Scope, Analyzer, Generator, TDR, etc.) and is familiar with automated test equipment. Proficient at working cooperatively with peers, leads, and customers to resolve problems. Open to extensive OCONUS travel to support Program Requirements.

Requirements

  • Must have an active Secret security clearance
  • US Passport or qualified to obtain a US Passport
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2-4 years RF system experience (EW or RADAR)
  • Avionics background
  • Electronics maintenance and troubleshooting knowledge
  • Hardware and software systems integration and knowledge
  • Organizational Level experience which includes working around aircraft, reading schematics/diagrams, and using technical manuals.
  • Exhibit logical approaches to diagnostics and troubleshooting.
