About The Position

We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers and deployment sites, ensuring our robots operate successfully in real-world environments. In this role, you will be the technical bridge between our engineering teams and our customers—deploying robots, troubleshooting hardware and software issues in the field, and bringing critical feedback back to improve our products. This is a high-impact role for hands-on problem solvers who thrive under real-world constraints. You'll diagnose issues ranging from software configuration to hardware failures, potentially performing field repairs including soldering and component replacement. You'll see firsthand how our technology performs outside the lab and play a key role in shaping its evolution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical role involving customer-facing work, field engineering, or technical support.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across hardware and software.
  • Experience with robotics systems or mechatronic hardware.
  • Hands-on hardware skills: comfortable using multimeters, soldering irons, and basic hand tools.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and relay field issues clearly to engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50%) to customer sites.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to dynamic, unstructured environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Comfort working in Linux environments and writing light scripts (Bash, Python).
  • Knowledge of ROS/ROS2 is a plus.
  • Background in electronics repair, systems integration, or industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with networking and system administration.
  • Previous experience in field service, technical support, or customer success roles.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and commission robots at customer sites, ensuring successful integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in the field, often under time pressure—from software configuration to hands-on hardware repairs.
  • Perform field maintenance and repairs, including cable work, component replacement, and soldering when necessary.
  • Write light scripts and use command-line tools to configure systems and automate routine tasks.
  • Collect and communicate field data and feedback to engineering teams to drive product improvements.
  • Train customer teams on robot operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with sales and product teams to scope technical requirements for new deployments.

Benefits

  • The opportunity to work on groundbreaking robotics technology, enabling the next generation of humanoid robots to interact dynamically with their environments.
  • A collaborative and innovative environment that fosters creativity and exploration.
  • Equity ownership in the company
  • Health Benefits (Medical, Dental, and Vision)
  • Compensation $110k - $180k/yr, plus equity
