About The Position

Intramotev is seeking a highly skilled Forward Deployed Engineer to join the engineering team to meet growing demands in the deployment of autonomous, self-propelled rail vehicles. You will play a crucial role as the primary technical link between our engineering team and our customers, ensuring successful product deployment, training, and initial troubleshooting. This position is based out of St. Louis, MO and is a full-time, 100% in-office position. This role requires frequent domestic travel to customer sites (up to 50%), which may involve working irregular hours to meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience in technical deployment, field engineering, or software/systems troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical knowledge of software deployment and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches.
  • Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment and as a customer-facing representative.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
  • U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided).
  • Fluent in both written and verbal English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Rail, Electric Vehicle (EV), or Unmanned Systems industries.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as CAN bus or Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments and basic scripting (Python/Bash).
  • Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead System Deployment: Travel to customer sites to manage the end-to-end deployment process and provide expert support during initial operations.
  • Customer Integration: Work closely with customers to identify operational requirements and develop technical solutions that align with Intramotev's business objectives.
  • Training & Education: Develop and maintain technical documentation, deployment plans, and training materials to empower customer operators.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Conduct initial technical troubleshooting of hardware and software on-site, escalating complex issues to internal stakeholders as needed.
  • Voice of the Customer: Provide critical feedback to the internal Engineering and Design teams on customer needs and site-specific challenges to inform the product roadmap.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure service excellence and project success.
