About The Position

A variety of seasonal park positions are available at Fort Delaware State Park, which include the following: Grounds Maintenance, Revenue Attendant, and Tram Operator. Applicants must be available to work weekends and holidays as scheduled and must be willing to work around boats and water.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience using landscaping equipment and hand or power tools (Grounds Maintenance only).
• Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked, cancelled, or disqualified from driving) for Grounds Maintenance and Tram Operator.
• Six months customer service experience for Revenue Attendant.
• Six months experience in sales and cash handling for Revenue Attendant.
• Six months experience in using standard computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, or databases for Revenue Attendant.
• Six months experience operating a truck and trailer for Tram Operator.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the maintenance of grounds, facilities, and equipment to include lawn mowing and custodial work.
• Sell ferry tickets, park permits, and retail items.
• Provide customer service by explaining regulations, answering visitor requests, and providing information about the park and surrounding areas.
• Transport visitors to and from the fort via truck and trailer.
• Operate landscaping equipment and use of hand and power tools.
• Perform custodial services in restrooms, offices, and other buildings.
• Assist in electrical and plumbing maintenance.
• Set-up, monitor, and clean-up park programs and special events.
• Collect appropriate fees and account for money.
• Maintain and compile fiscal and narrative records and reports.
• Safely load visitors and staff and transport them to and from the fort.
• Provide excellent customer service and park information to visitors.
• Demonstrate responsibility, dependability, and good communication skills.
• Work independently.
• Other duties as assigned.
