This facility is part of our Prepared Foods business unit. This is a cross functional position that includes fat lab testing.

Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 3 plus years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Basic knowledge.
  • Communication Skills: Communicate effectively to ensure product flow to next workstation.
  • Special Skills: Proficient knowledge of SQF preferred. Knowledge of aseptic technique. Ability to perform intermediate math equations. Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks a must. Ability to learn new skills and adapt to change as the organization continues to improve processes. Manipulate objects and manual dexterity. Required to climb ladders stairs. Must be willing to repeatedly push pull lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Be able to walk or stand for 8-12 hours per day on hard floors. Must be willing to work in an environment with the sight and smell of meat products or any other product present when processing meat such as blood fat bone spices. Must be able to work in a refrigerated area with ambient temperature of 40 degrees. Ability to withstand wet; humid cold and hot environments. Able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment PPE . Able to pass a drug screen and physical. Must be willing to accommodate shift start time changes. Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
  • Internal Team Members: Must not have 4 or more attendance points for locations on an 8 point policy (on application date) No written warning in the past six (6) months No suspension on record for the last 12 months

  • Proficient knowledge of SQF preferred.
  • 3 plus years of manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Raw Material Formulation and Quality Control: Formulate raw meat into specific product categories while ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Manage and maintain pre-blend meat inventory, ensuring it meets USDA standards and maintains quality attributes.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, graphs, and charts to analyze product data and recommend necessary adjustments.
  • Production Process Supervision: Supervise the grinding and blending department, resolving any issues that arise during the production process.
  • Collaborate with team members across functional areas to address production challenges and ensure product requirements are met.
  • Inventory Management and Order Monitoring: Monitor purchase and process orders in SAP to ensure accuracy and compliance with product specifications.
  • Schedule raw meat deliveries according to production needs, supporting accurate purchasing and inventory management.
  • Training and Coverage: Participate in cross-training initiatives related to supervision, formulations, and procurement.
  • Provide coverage for supervisory and laboratory duties during short-term absences and assist with excess workload.
  • Teamwork and Safety: Foster a teamwork environment, promoting collaboration and effective communication among team members.
  • Maintain focus on detail in routine tasks to ensure product quality and safety standards are met.
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe and organized work environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Other: Update formulation files using Optimal Formulations software.
  • Use various programs and applications to generate basic output.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
