GenScript is looking for a highly motivated and scientifically rigorous Nanoparticle Formulation Scientist to join our RNA team. This position will focus on developing novel lipid nanoparticle formulations for RNA delivery.

Requirements

  • Master or PhD's degree in pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering or related field, Master is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of lipid and polymeric nanoparticle delivery technologies
  • >4 years of relevant experience in nucleic acid delivery with hands-on experience in lipid nanoparticle formulation and characterization
  • Extensive experience with production and analytical characterization of nanoparticles
  • Proficiency in all molecular biology techniques for mRNA and protein expression (RT-PCR, ELISA, Western blot, Flow-cytometry, etc) and RNA-related analytics (ribogreen, gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, etc).
  • Works collaboratively with team members to support each other
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • A sense of humility and an eagerness to continue to learn and contribute to a supportive team

Responsibilities

  • Develop new lipid nanoparticle formulations (lipid or other polymers) platform for mRNA, DNA, RNA, peptide delivery, to achieve targeted delivery for different disease needs, like neuronal, brain, muscle, bone marrow cell, etc.
  • Develop method for characterizing and evaluating physical characteristics for antibody decorated LNPs.
  • Process development for high throughput LNP preparation and downstream process to improve production efficiency.
  • Produce formulations for related RNA projects, supporting functional assays for in vitro evaluation.
  • Maintain relationships with customers, participate in scientific meetings or customer meetings.
  • Write study protocols, technical reports, and SOPs to support mRNA product development projects.
  • Interact with IP counsel to assist with patent prosecution.
  • Monitors supply inventory and identifies any products required.
  • Maintains work area, equipment, department and all storage areas in a clean, neat and orderly manner.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
