About The Position

We are hiring for a Formula Technician position in New Orleans, LA! Location: Morrison Healthcare at Ochsner Medical Center Setting: Acute Care Hospital Schedule: Part time, with weekend and holiday rotation Position Details: The Formula Tech is responsible for the inventory, preparation, and distribution of oral nutritional supplements, tube feedings, and infant formulas in the hospital.  You will also be responsible for the associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices that ensure proper formula preparation. Requirements

  • Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR),  or Bachelor's degree in nutriton or related science preferred
  • Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications and diet office systems

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of hospital or healthcare experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, delivers, and maintains inventory of oral nutritional supplements, tube feedings, and infant formulas
  • Maintains strict sanitation, cleaning, and infection control standards
  • Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
  • Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
  • Trains and mentor’s patient services staff and interns as applicable
  • Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
