About The Position

We are hiring for a Formula Technician position in New Orleans, LA! Location: Morrison Healthcare at Ochsner Medical Center Setting: Acute care hospital Schedule: Part time-anticipated need is 1-3 days/week, including weekend and holiday rotation Position Details: The formula tech is responsible for the infant feeding room, including the preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula. Job Summary We are seeking a part time Formula Tech to join our nutrition team in an acute care medical center in New Orleans, LA.

Requirements

  • Credentialed as a Nutrition and Dietetics Technician, Registered (NDTR) or Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related science, preferred
  • Possess the necessary skills to effectively utilize Microsoft office applications, electronic medical records, diet office systems, and nutrient analysis programming

  • Healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Preparation, distribution, inventory, and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula
  • Responsible for the associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices that ensure proper enteral/oral formula and breast milk preparation
  • Calculates formulations or standardized recipes manually or via the use of specifically designed software
  • Follows all guidelines as outlined within the Company Diet Manual and the Clinical Nutrition Policies & Procedures Manual
  • Complies with all regulatory standards to include federal, state, and accrediting agencies, while adhering to facility confidentiality, HIPPA regulations, and patient rights policies
  • Participates in patient satisfaction programs, departmental meetings, and facility wide Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs
