The Formation Operator position is a critical role within our manufacturing process, ensuring that the production of batteries meets the highest standards of quality and safety. The Formation Operator is responsible for maintaining the correct acid levels in batteries and conducting thorough visual inspections to identify any cosmetic defects. This role requires a strong commitment to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to our Quality policy on a daily basis. In this position, the Formation Operator will engage in various tasks that are essential to the production line. This includes placing caps onto batteries according to their specific types, performing the stacking and unstacking of batteries from conveyors, and identifying defects prior to the first acid fill. The operator must also analyze the correct direction of batteries during off-bearing, ensuring that the polarity is understood and correctly applied. Additionally, the operator will be responsible for identifying the correct jumpers for specific battery types and demonstrating the proper use of table lifts during off-bearing operations. The Formation Operator will also play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the work area, performing general housekeeping duties, and ensuring that all quality and production requirements are met.
